First City University College’s Student Shines at Golden Axe Award Ceremony 2025

The Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Furniture Association (KSFA) hosted the Golden Axe Award Ceremony 2025 on 6 September 2025 at the Sin Choi Wah Restaurant’s Grand Ballroom. The event was part of KSFA’s 69th Anniversary Gala Dinner, bringing together industry leaders, furniture manufacturers, and design professionals to celebrate achievements and share insights for the future. Lim Jun Yan, a student from First City University College, represented the institution and participated in the prestigious awards.

During the ceremony, Lim Jun Yan received the Silver Award in the student category for the dining set design competition. The award recognised not only technical skill and creativity but also the dedication and problem-solving approach demonstrated throughout the design process. The event offered students a unique opportunity to present their work to industry experts, gain feedback, and experience the professional standards of Malaysia’s furniture sector.

Reflecting on the achievement, Lim Jun Yan said, “Attending the Golden Axe Award Ceremony was truly a memorable experience. I felt deeply honoured to receive the Silver Award, which represents both my effort and the guidance I received from Mr. Syafiq. This event reminded me that design is about creativity, problem-solving, and connecting with people through thoughtful ideas.”
