International Cultural Showcase 2025: Celebrating Unity in Diversity

On 19 September 2025, First City University College hosted the International Cultural Showcase 2025. Organised by the International Student Club and co-organised by the Student Services Department under the guidance of club advisor Ms. Thanapuspa, the event brought together students and staff to celebrate the richness of global cultures on campus.

Students proudly donned traditional attire, turning the venue into a living tapestry of cultural expression. Guests enjoyed a food and drink tasting session featuring authentic dishes prepared by international students, with a famous Bangladeshi snack quickly becoming a crowd favourite. The programme also included a student-produced cultural video, offering insights into the traditions and values of participating countries and sparking conversations across the community.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saw Soh Heoh and Head of Student Services Mr. Weladavid Rahula presented certificates of appreciation to all international students and volunteers who made the event possible. Diploma in Mass Communication student Raufa Majid reflected, “I enjoyed the delicious snacks from different countries that my international friends brought. It was definitely a pleasant event to get together and learn more about their cultures.” The showcase strengthened bonds, celebrated diversity, and affirmed that unity grows when we embrace what makes each of us unique.
