Life in Cards – Narrative Writing Mini Workshop

The Centre of Language and Extension Services conducted an in class mini workshop titled “Life in Cards – Narrative Writing” on 9 and 10 February 2026.

Inspired by the concept of the Game of Life, students worked in groups and took turns drawing life event cards. Students built a complete narrative arc and were guided to ensure coherence, logical progression and effective use of elements such as setting, character development, conflict and resolution. They presented their completed life stories to the class, followed by peer discussion and comparison.

The workshop effectively combined creative expression with academic writing, demonstrating how experiential learning can strengthen narrative competence and communication skills.
