ORIENTATION PROGRAMME WELCOMES MAY 2025 INTAKE WITH ENERGY AND ENCOURAGEMENT


The Orientation Programme for the May 2025 intake was held on 26 May 2025 at the Student Services Lounge, marking the beginning of a new chapter for students at First City University College. The full-day event was designed to familiarise students with campus life, key services, and their respective faculties.
The programme began with a warm welcome by the Head of Student Services, Weladavi Rahula, followed by speeches from faculty deans. Assistant Professor Chua Huwi Huwi of the Faculty of Design & Built Environment assured students of industry exposure and professional grooming, while Acting Dean Assistant Professor Komlavathi A/P Subramaniam of the Faculty of Business & Communication encouraged students to participate in activities and build lasting networks. Representing the Faculty of Computer Science & Technology, Assistant Professor Ir. Dr. Tay Ching En Marcus urged students to go the extra mile and take full advantage of the opportunities available at First City University College
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saw Sor Heoh highlighted the importance of valuing time and self-care, stating, “The most precious thing is not money, but time. Ask questions—even if you’re wrong, that’s how learning begins.”
The day also featured high-energy performances cheerleading and lion dance performance, followed by briefing sessions, programme introductions, and a campus tour. Students left the event inspired, informed, and ready to begin their journey at First City University College.
