Roll, Create, Tell! A Visual Storytelling Challenge

On 21 January 2026, Centre of Language & Extension Services conducted an in-class creative learning activity titled Roll, Create, Tell! A Visual Storytelling Challenge.

Students worked collaboratively in groups to develop a one-page comic based on randomly generated visual prompts. Following the comic creation, each group delivered a presentation explaining their storyline. The students voted for the comics in three categories: Best Story, Best Artwork, and Best Overall Comic.

The group that was voted as the Best Artwork is Group 6 consisting of Yap Qing (Hazel), Tang Choi Ting and Wah Zhi Ling. Meanwhile the group that was voted as the Best Story and Best Overall Comic is Group 1 consisting of Kaw Qing Wei, Wong Jia Mun, You Xi Hui and Lhavanya A/P Ramu.

The activity reinforced the value of interactive and experiential learning approaches in enhancing students’ engagement and confidence in using the English language.
