STUDENTS EXPLORE CUTTING-EDGE PRINTING TECHNOLOGY AT PRINT TECHNOLOGY 2025

On 14 August 2025, students and lecturers from the Faculty of Design and Built Environment at First City University College attended the 11th Print Technology 2025 exhibition at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur. Organised by Rtist, Konica Minolta, and Dot2Dot Sdn Bhd, the visit featured a guided tour of Malaysia’s premier printing exhibition, where students were introduced to innovations in digital, offset, textile, 3D printing, packaging, and eco-friendly printing solutions.
The highlight of the event included a talk by Mr. KC Ooi titled “Gen Z Designers: You’ve Got the Style, But Can You Sell It?” which offered practical insights into design and marketing for the creative industry. The guided exhibition tour allowed students to experience industrial-scale printing processes up close and learn directly from professionals about new trends and technologies shaping the industry.
“It was my first time seeing large-scale printing machines up close, and the experience truly opened my eyes to the vastness of the printing industry beyond what we usually explore in class,” said student Eng Yi Ling. Another student, Lim Wei Xian, shared, “Being able to talk directly to industry professionals gave me insights that you cannot get from textbooks or online research.” The visit was an enriching experience that bridged classroom learning with real-world innovation.
