THANK YOU, PARENTS – A PERFORMING ARTS CLUB CELEBRATION

On 12 June 2024, the Performing Arts Club staged a heartfelt event titled, “Thank You to Parents Performance,” at the Cafeteria Stage. This special occasion, open to all students and staff of First City University College, was organised to express gratitude to parents for their selfless dedication. The event coincided with the celebrations of Mother’s Day (12 May 2024) and Father’s Day (16 June 2024).

The event provided an opportunity for everyone to enjoy a festive atmosphere, forge new friendships, and engage in future performing arts activities. It highlighted the diversity of the Performing Arts Club and showcased a wide array of performance techniques, including violin, guitar, piano, and vocal harmonies. These performances provided attendees with an opportunity to learn about music and experience a moment of peace and enjoyment amidst their busy schedules.

The Performing Arts Club curated a total of five performances. Sim Shi Yu performed “Zebra, Zebra,” followed by Chong Ho Xin with “Grow Up with Me.” Paul Carlos Kert Barot and Bernard Chong Yi Yang presented “Keep You Safe,” featuring Paul as vocalist and guitarist and Bernard as drummer. Lai Shi Xuan performed a beautiful rendition of “You Raise Me Up.” The event concluded with Christella Maurice singing “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You,” accompanied by guitarists Paul Carlos Kert Barot and Kenniah Lam Khan Yue.

The one-hour lunchtime event was a beautiful tribute to parents, celebrating their invaluable role in our lives. The performances highlighted the talents of our students and fostered a sense of community within First City University College. The event served as a platform for meaningful expressions of gratitude and an artistic showcase.
