UNLOCK THE FUTURE WITH DATA: TURNING INSIGHTS INTO IMPACT WORKSHOP INSPIRES STUDENTS

On 23 October 2025, the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology hosted the workshop “Unlock the Future with Data: Turning Insights into Impact” for students from SMK Taman Mutiara Rini 2, Johor. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Cham Kah Loon, Mr. Mohd Sukry Bin Mohd Taib, Mr. Mohd Norfitri Bin Nordin, and Dr. Mohd Ridhwan Hilmi Bin Mohd Adnan. The session deepened students’ understanding of data in mathematics and its real-world applications.
The workshop began with a discussion on the concept of data and its collection through methods such as questionnaires and interviews. Mr. Cham Kah Loon then introduced key types of data visualization — bar charts, line charts, and pie charts — demonstrating how these tools can make information clearer and more accessible.
In the hands-on session by Mr. Mohd Sukry Bin Mohd Taib, students applied their knowledge to real-world datasets, transforming raw data into meaningful visualizations. The practical exercises helped students gain insights into how data visualization simplifies complex information, supports better decision-making, and inspires creative applications in academics and beyond.
The workshop successfully combined theoretical foundations with practical skills, equipping students to better analyse, interpret, and communicate data in today’s data-driven world.
