BASIC OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID, CPR & AED TRAINING COURSE
The Basic Occupational First Aid, CPR & AED Training Course, conducted on 2 and 3 December 2024, was a vital initiative aimed at empowering participants with essential skills to respond effectively to emergencies. The course was designed to train workers and laypersons to become qualified First Aiders, covering basic life support (BLS) techniques such as CPR, choking management, and first aid essentials for bleeding, burns, fractures, and spinal injuries.
The training incorporated theory presentations, practical sessions, and lifelike or virtual mock drills with tabletop exercises. These components ensured participants gained both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills in managing critical situations. The course was attended by academic and administrative staff members from various faculties, centres, and departments, fostering greater collaboration and shared responsibility for campus safety.
This initiative reflected First City University College’s dedication to equipping individuals with the competence and confidence to manage critical situations. Participants gained valuable life-saving skills and the confidence to act decisively in emergencies, contributing to a safer and more cohesive campus environment.
