Engineering degrees that are accredited by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) are recognised by overseas countries for work. In addition, the 4-year Engineering degree programmes at First City University College are accredited by Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The Engineering degree programmes at First City UC are accredited by  Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and also the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Furthermore, students have access to 19 State-of-the-art engineering and computing laboratories. They will also have access to advanced software tools such as Mainframe Computing Technology and Mentor Graphics of Electronic Design Automation (EDA).

There are seven Engineering Laboratories, which are well-equipped to meet the stringent requirements of First City University College’s Partner Universities and The Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

The engineering laboratories include the Digital Power & Control Laboratory, the Microprocessor & Electronic CAD Laboratory, Mechatronics Laboratory and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Laboratory. The Computer Centre maintains the campus-wide network based on the Windows platform. In the E-Info Lab, students enjoy high speed access to the Internet and its resources.

At First City UC, students will study in a conducive medium-sized 13-acre campus with sports facilities that’s located in the safe township of Bandar Utama in Selangor. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy freedom to practice and play at the Badminton Courts, Football Field, Basketball Court, Volleyball Court or Table Tennis. Additionally, students will have easy access to amenities such as food court, supermarket, bank ATMs, laundromat, etc at the Centre Point Mall across the road from the university.

What are the Duration of the Engineering Programmes at First City UC?

  • Foundation in Engineering, Science & Technology – 1 year
  • Engineering Diploma – 2 years & 4 months
  • Engineering Degree – 4 years

What is the education Pathway into the Engineering degree programmes at First City UC after SPM or IGCSE/O-Levels?

To enter into the Foundation in Engineering, Science & Technology programme, students after SPM or IGCSE/O-Levels will need at least 5 credits including Maths and Physics (Chemistry for Chemical Engineering) and pass in BM and Sejarah. Alternatively, with 3 credits in SPM or IGCSE/O-Levels including Maths and a Science subject, students can join the Diploma in Engineering course before entering into Year 2 of the Degree course.

Students who have just completed their SPM or IGCSE/O-Levels have 2 options to enter into the Engineering Programmes at First City UC.

  1. First, you can join the Foundation in Engineering, Science & Technology for 1 year and then enter into Year 1 of the Engineering degree programme.
  2. The Second pathway is to take either the Diploma in Electronic Engineering or Diploma in Mechatronic Engineering. The Engineering Diplomas will take 2 years to complete and then you will enter into Year 2 of the Engineering degree programme.

SPM or IGCSE/O-Level students who have completed their Pre-University Course from other institutions may enter into the Engineering degree depending on the Entry Requirements.
