First City University College recently had the esteemed privilege of participating in the “Majlis Landasan Hala Tuju Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi Tahun 2024”, featuring the newly appointed Minister of Higher Education, YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir. The event, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, took place at Dewan Tunku Canselor, Universiti Malaya, on 12 January 2024.

During this significant occasion, key representatives from First City University College, including Mr. Weladavi Rahula, Head of Student Services, Asst. Prof. Siti Maria Binti Mohamad, Head of Centre for General Studies, Ms. Najiah Binti Mohd Rosli, Senior Quality Assurance Executive, and Fow Seng Joe, the Student Council Representative, had the opportunity to engage with the Honourable Minister.

The event’s highlight was Dato’ Seri Diraja Zambry’s comprehensive presentation, revealing strategic initiatives for the Ministry of Higher Education in 2024. Of note were plans to formulate a new Malaysian Education Development Plan (Higher Education), emphasizing inclusivity and openness. The Ministry’s five main focuses, ranging from talent acquisition to internationalization, reflect a forward-thinking approach.
