FOSTERING INNOVATION AND TALENT AT INNOVATION DAY 2024

The Faculty of Computer Science and Technology successfully organised Innovation Day 2024 on 26 April 2024 at the First City Hall, First City University College. Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Teo Chiang Liang, the Director of First City University College, inaugurated the momentous event alongside Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Saw Sor Heoh.

INNOVATION DAY 2024 epitomized the culmination of perseverance and innovation from the graduating students of the Faculty of Computer Science & Technology. It provided a platform for students to unveil their inventive projects, showcasing their limitless creativity, technical proficiency, and problem-solving acumen cultivated throughout their academic tenure.

Complementing the event was an enlightening industry forum titled “Strategies for Success in the Information Technology Industry,” featuring distinguished industry speakers including Ts Sivalingam Muthupalaniappan, Head of Government Enterprise Solutions at MIMOS Berhad, Mr Fazreil Amreen Abdul Jalil, Vice-President of DevOps, and Mr Ahmad Hannan, Vice-President of Engineering, both from MIDF Berhad.

Students fervently presented their projects to the esteemed industry partners, who also served as judges for the “Industry Choice Award” competitions. Lee Zhi Guan clinched victory in the Computing Category with his project titled “Local Travel Discovery Application,” while Tang Poh Kit secured the Engineering Category with his project titled “Performance Enhancement of Hybrid Solar System.” For the Most Popular Project Award which was based on popular votes, the title went to Tan Hui Yee and Carmen Lau Kar-Wei for their project titled “”Total Asset Protection Assistant-0 (TAPA-0)”.
