FIRST City University College (First City UC) students from its Faculty of Design and Built Environment (FDBE) were once again able to show off their talents at a physical venue after having to do it online for the last two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Sequence 2022 graduation showcase held on July 1 at a shopping centre in Petaling Jaya was officiated by Malaysian Association for Education (MAE) president and former National Education Advisory Council member Datuk Satinah Syed Saleh.
Also present were First City UC director Tan Sri Dr Teo Chiang Liang and vice-chancellor Prof Dr Saw Sor Heoh, FDBE acting dean Assistant Prof Chua Huwi Huwi and Shelley McNulty from Manchester Metropolitan University, the United Kingdom.
Commending the FDBE staff and students for their effort, Prof Saw said Sequence 2022 was now in its 20th edition.
Satinah, in her speech, congratulated the university college for organising the annual event so that students could showcase their projects. She said the yearly tradition went a long way in promoting quality education.
“I am impressed with the quality and creativity of the designs produced by the students.
“They will have a very bright future as professional designers,” she added.
Sequence 2022 showcased 60 interior architecture and design, graphic design, furniture and product design, and fashion marketing projects.
During the event, student Phang Hui Tat walked away with RM3,000 and a tablet after being named the winner of the One Stop Creative Associate Private Limited (OSCA) Interior Design Competition.
