The students of the BSc (Honours) Accounting and Finance programme at the Faculty of Business, Hospitality & Communication (FBHC) recently had a captivating Meet and Chat Session with Dato’ Lock Peng Kuan , the distinguished Industry Advisor and Managing Partner of Audit and Assurance at Baker Tilly Malaysia
The session, held on 2 November 2023, had the esteemed presence of FBHC Dean Associate Professor Dr Lewis Leong. The gathering also included Senior Lecturer/Programme Coordinator Fong Jia Ling and Assistant Prof David Lee Meng Wai.
During the session, Dato’ Lock shared his journey, revealing why he chose accounting as his degree and pursued a career in this field. He emphasized the immense rewards, clear career path, and strong earning potential associated with accounting.
Dato’ Lock engaged with the students in a two-way dialogue, discussing their motivations for choosing Accounting and Finance as their first degree. He encouraged them to pursue professional certifications like ACCA and stressed the importance of learning accounting software to stand out in the job market.
