The Student Lounge at the Student Services Department was buzzed with excitement on 6 December 2023 as 44 students from the MPU 3422 Team Building class, alongside their dedicated lecturers from the Centre for General Studies, convened for the significant donation handover to WWF-Malaysia’s Save Our Tigers Project WWF-Malaysia.
The atmosphere crackled with energy as guests including Professor Dr. Saw Sor Heoh, Vice-Chancellor of First City University College; Ms. Suan Tan, Senior Manager of Brand Activation at WWF-Malaysia; Weladavi Acharige Rahula, Head of Student Services at First City University College; and Philip Lim, Head of Corporate Communication & Public Relations, joined the gathering of students, adding to the fervour of the moment.
Professor Dr. Saw Sor Heoh set the tone of the event with a warm greeting and a meaningful message, emphasizing the importance of Malayan tiger conservation. Ms. Suan Tan, exuding enthusiasm, echoed sentiments of gratitude for the collective efforts directed towards wildlife preservation.
The pinnacle of the gathering came with a heartfelt video presentation, chronicling the students’ journey in fundraising for the ‘Save Our Tigers Project’ and their unwavering dedication to protecting the tiger population.
Professor Dr Saw presented the symbolic “Save Our Tigers” donation replica to WWF-Malaysia in the presence of all the students and their respective group leaders – Sim Deck Chan, Michelle Chan Jia Yan, Lee Rui Xian, Fow Seng Joe, Adam Tan Yue Hao, and Harresha Gunaprakas.
The event concluded with a joyful photography session and light refreshments, fostering a sense of camaraderie and celebration for this noble endeavour.
